According to the information obtained, a fire erupted for an undetermined reason on a vessel that was on land at the Ağanlar Shipyard in İçmeler. The rapidly growing flames led to moments of fear within the shipyard area.
Fire brigade teams dispatched to the region upon notification quickly intervened in the fire. Thanks to the timely and effective work of the teams, the fire was prevented from spreading to other vessels and areas nearby. A potential major disaster was averted.
In a statement regarding the incident, Orhan Dinç, the President of the Chamber of Shipping, expressed that the adequacy of the equipment used in the intervention and the early response prevented a significant catastrophe.
