While conducting STS operations on Jan 5, 2018, at 6.15 a.m. the crew of the 'Meridian Express' spotted two robbers on the upper deck near the forecastle, in position 06 17 80N, 003 19 70E. The alarm was raised and the crew mustered. Seeing the crew alertness, the robbers jumped overboard and escaped empty handed. The incident was reported to the Nigerian Navy.
