Asyad Group and CMA CGM Group have signed a US$400M agreement to develop a logistics terminal in Sohar, enhancing Oman's maritime connectivity.

Asyad Group and CMA CGM Group have signed a framework agreement to develop and operate a US$400 million multipurpose logistics terminal in Sohar, reported CMA CGM. The deal was concluded during the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to France.

The partnership is intended to boost Oman's maritime connectivity and create new regional trade corridors. It will combine the expertise of the French shipping group and Oman's state logistics provider to strengthen port operations and service quality.

Abdulrahman Al Hatmi, chief executive of Asyad Group, stated that the cooperation would enhance the commercial appeal of Omani ports, attract investment, and reinforce the Sultanate's role in global supply chains.

Rodolphe Saade, chairman and chief executive of CMA CGM, remarked that the Sohar terminal would improve regional connectivity and inland access to trade corridors, while reflecting confidence in Oman's long-term vision.

Asyad operates a logistics network across 24 countries with a fleet of more than 100 vessels serving 200 ports. CMA CGM, the world's third-largest shipping company, runs over 700 vessels serving 420 ports and holds interests in 65 terminals worldwide. Its CEVA Logistics unit manages 1,000 warehouses and handled 15 million shipments in 2025.
