SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 15.1 per cent to US$1,015 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 8.3 per cent to $951 per TEU, American Shipper reported.
On the other hand Asia to the US west coast soared 26.2 per cent weekover week to $1,378 per FEU while those to the east coast were up 17 per cent to $2,356 per FEU.
