    “We basically maintain the Goulart in a state of arrested decay,” said Shipbuilding Museum president Lee Spence. “We have undertaken an effort to make her safe. Having a schooner challenge as a fundraiser was an idea that came about in a meeting discussing what to do with the Goulart. At that time, Harold Burnham suggested we have a fundraiser and schooner challenge.”
