AD Ports Group Sees 19% Profit Surge Driven by Container

AD Ports Group's profit reached AED584 million in 2025, a 19% increase, fueled by container growth and expanded customer spending.

AD Ports Group reported a record profit of AED584 million (US$569 million) in 2025, marking a 19 per cent increase year-on-year as expansion lifted volumes and revenues, reports the UK's Seatrade Maritime News.

The group noted that its customer base grew by 20 per cent, with spending by its top 10 clients increasing by 40 per cent. Container throughput rose by 23 per cent to 7.7 million TEU, which helped offset a 29 per cent decline in ro-ro volumes to one million units and a 10 per cent drop in cruise passengers to 474,000.

Ports revenue climbed by 21 per cent to AED2.86 billion, driven by a 59 per cent rise in container revenues, a 33 per cent increase in bulk and general cargo, and contributions from CMA Terminals Khalifa Port. Khalifa Port accounted for 9.6 million TEU of the group's total global capacity of 12.1 million TEU.

The Maritime and Shipping cluster led with AED10.7 billion in revenue, up 33 per cent, and now represents 51 per cent of the group's turnover. Feeder shipping volumes rose by 38 per cent to 3.35 million, although average rates fell by seven per cent. The marine services fleet expanded to 81 vessels, while the multipurpose and ro-ro fleet grew to 60 ships.

Revenue from Economic Cities and Free Zones rose by 45 per cent to AED2.9 billion, supported by warehouse sales. However, logistics was the only segment to decline, with revenue down by 6 per cent to AED4.4 billion and EBITDA falling by 63 per cent.

Group CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi stated that AD Ports strengthened its core infrastructure and advanced its international strategy, generating positive free cash flow for the first time since its listing.
