MT MARQUISE crew faces critical danger after drone attack; evacuation requests denied as conditions worsen at sea.

CRITICAL HOURS ON THE SHIP IN THE BLACK SEA: CREW'S LIFE IN DANGER

Time is running out for the 20-member crew aboard the MT MARQUISE, which has been rendered inoperable due to damage to its engine room following a drone attack. The request for refuge in Sinop has been denied, and no action has yet been taken by the authorities for evacuation.

Challenging hours are being experienced in the Black Sea. The commercial vessel MT MARQUISE, which was subjected to a drone attack, has become unable to navigate under its own power due to serious damage in the engine room. The situation is worsening for the 20-member crew as efforts are being made to tow the ship to a shipyard in Yalova.

Following the attack, the health status of the personnel, who have been stranded at sea for an extended period, has reached a critical level. Fatigue has increased, and conditions have become more difficult. Weather and sea conditions do not permit evacuation at sea; furthermore, it has been reported that adverse weather is expected to continue in the coming days.

A request for refuge in Sinop was made to ensure the safe evacuation of the crew. However, this request was not accepted by the authorities. The decision has effectively narrowed the evacuation options and prolonged the wait for the personnel stranded on the ship after the attack.

It is emphasized that while the ship is being towed in a controlled manner, it is not sustainable for the crew to continue remaining on board under the current conditions. Rescue units, especially the Coast Guard, are expected to intervene as soon as possible.

The safety of the crew on ships that have been damaged and lost their propulsion power is always a priority. In such situations, a rapid response can save lives.

The process is being closely monitored; developments will be reported.
