APL, ANL and Hanjin collaborate on new intra-Asia service September 1
APL, ANL and Hanjin Shipping have joined to offer a weekly service covering Asia, Australia and New Zealand named AAZ (Asia, Australia, New Zealand) from September 1 to enable fast transits from New Zealand to major southeast Asian ports.
It will operate through a vessel sharing agreement, with the three partners each contributing two ships and allocating a combined capacity of up to 2,200 TEU for every weekly sailing.
The loop's port rotation will be Singapore, Port Klang, Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Tauranga, Brisbane and back to Singapore.
The service will also support weekly calls and fast transits via Port Klang and Singapore between New Zealand and Brisbane and calls from southeast Asia to Brisbane and Sydney.
"The new weekly service will provide more competitive options to shippers moving dry and reefer cargo between New Zealand, Australia and Asia; particularly New Zealand reefer exports destined for key Asian markets," VSA partners said in a joint statement.
The service will commence its first southbound sailing from Singapore September 1 and its first northbound sailing from Auckland on September 24.
