COMMERCIAL maritime security specialist, Neptune Maritime Security, which has its operations and support centre in Poole, Dorset, UK, has opened a new office in the United Arab Emirates, close to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) headquarter in Dubai, which is part of the contribution by the British Royal Navy to ensure safe trade in the Red Sea and Gulf areas.
Neptune Maritime Security said the new 'Neptune' centre in Dubai ensures the company can respond swiftly to regional operational needs, and develop its business interests in this important region.
The company guarantees British-trained, experienced, professional operatives who understand shipping companies' needs, and can confront any security situation. 'Neptune' uses careful selection and training of operatives; top-class equipment; detailed operating instructions; 24-hour operational management contact; and constant quality monitoring, to ensure the safe passage of any vessel in its care, regardless of type or size.
The company was founded by experienced former members of the UK's Special Boat Service (SBS), and supported by a range of specialists. It offers high quality protection to the maritime industry and from its UK and Dubai centres, and is able to supply clients with armed vessel protection teams, maritime security consultations and associated intelligence analysis capabilities.
Rival British firms, one made up of Royal Navy ex-Royal Marine commandoes (Neptune) are based in Bournemouth, and the other, former members of the army's Special Air Service Regiment (AKE Ltd) in Hereford, have been in hot competition for market share.
