Almost 60 passengers and crew members of the 'AmaVerde' on a river cruise on the Rhine complained of diarrhea and vomiting in the night of July 7, 2018. Emergency doctors examined them at a stop in Andernach at 9 p.m. The symptoms indicated a norovirus infection. firefighters, ambulance service, DLRG and water police attended the ship. Three emergency physicians examined all 198 passengers and crew members, 58 of whom were diagnosed with norovirus disease. Despite the sick passengers, the 'AmaVerde' was able to continue her journey as planned and no quarantine imposed. The ship sailed in the direction of Rüdesheim next.
