AADA postpones China-Oz July and mid-July rate hikes until August 1
MEMBER lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have announced they will postpone the US$100 per TEU rate increase planned for July 1 to August 1 as well as the $300 per TEU hike timed for July 15, which will be similarly delayed.
But from August 1, cargo from mainland China and Hong Kong to Australia will be charged $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU more for both dry and refrigerated cargo.
"This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment," said the AADA statement.
AADA members include ANL, China Shipping, Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai, "K" Line, Maersk, MSC. MOL Line, NYK and OOCL.
