The "Dageraad", 156 gt, was disabled by engine damage with 17 people aboard on March 25, 2017, 130 Kilometer off Borkum in the Northsea. The lifeboat "Alfried Krupp" of the DGzRS station Borkum was deployed to assist and reached the drifting vessel four hours later. The leisure cutter was taken in tow and pulled towards the Dutch coast where the casualty was taken over by another Dutch vessel. It was pulled into the port of Lauwersoog on March 26 at 5.30 a.m. The German lifeboat returned to its station 16 hours after the alert.
