The "Windrose", 2308 ts (EU-No.: 04805780), being loaded with 1700 tons gravel, suffered water ingress in the port of Düsseldorf-Reisholz at Rhine km 722,5 in the early evening of Feb 19, 2017. The water floated into two cargo holds from two ballast tanks. The fire rescue attended with the two fire boats from Neuss and Chempark Uerdingen, fire engines and divers. They started removing the water several dewatering pumps after the generator on board had failed so the ship's own pumps could not be activated. The water was removed with a capacity of five tons per hour. 2,5 hours later the situation was under control, five hours after the initial alarm most of the forces could be demobilized. The fire boat from Düsseldorf remaine on site until Feb 20 when experts would continue to try to locate the source of the water ingress.
