    2023 has arrived;

    In just a few days, we will step into a year that may feel very short for the universe but perhaps very long for our country and the world. In the last decade, where neoliberalism has shelved the free market due to its implementation errors, we have witnessed periods where new methods, derived to protect the system, do not align with the core essence of the system itself. Since the onset of neoliberalism, we have entered a process where recessions that used to occur every 10-15 years have accelerated to every 3-5 years, and even to 1-2 years.

    As for governance, the progress of our ancestors over the last thousand years, transitioning from theocracies to monarchies, has continued to crown itself towards democracies, which we can define as a higher level according to the preparedness of societies, illuminated by the technology and communication advancements of the last industrial revolution, where individuals can question and take responsibility.

    We know from experience that the Republic is based on the fact and logic that individuals have the chance to choose their rulers, and that those elected rulers must justly protect the interests of their voters. However, since the majority's vote is important in this singular phenomenon, we also experience that administrations merely defined as Republics elect their rulers, but those elected prefer to cater only to the needs and desires of the majority for their own interests while in power. In the phenomenon of Democracy, which is a higher level than the Republic, the needs and desires of opposing individuals/thoughts who did not elect the chosen ruler can also find answers, thus carrying the dream of not only making the majority of society happy but also making themselves happy, which continuously attracts us towards wanting better.

    I believe that the advancements in these progressive ideas and thoughts have accelerated significantly with the invention of the internet, which is the name of the new age, but the enlightenment of ideas progresses very slowly due to our unchanged selfishness and the necessity of meeting our basic needs, that is, the reality of how hungry or full we are. We must accept the fundamental relationship between governance developments and the economy of societies.

    Therefore, historically and currently, the governance developments of societies continue to progress in direct correlation with the economic system.

    So, what is the impact of these defined phenomena on the new year?

    We will witness a year where people who always seek better for themselves will try to break through the wall of why they tend to prefer the advancement of ideas and thoughts over money and power.

    When we examine the ages we name in humanity's development, we will remember that every change of age proves that the only unchanging thing is change itself.

    Minorities that seize power have historically failed in their attempts to halt or reverse development out of selfishness to retain that power.

    Thus, the year 2023 will be a year of fracture between the minorities holding power in the world and the majority of the world’s population seeking better for themselves.

    The wealth owned by 2% of the world's population must be more beneficial to the remaining 98%,

    or the year 2023 will experience that the economic power of the seven largest countries, which hold 64% of the world economy, must be used to increase the welfare of the remaining 201 countries.

    The year 2023 also marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of our Republic of Turkey.

    Our great leader and founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's greatest dream will also make it a year of fracture for Democracy.

    Yin and Yang will continue to battle;

    We are entering a year where we will again ask ourselves which one makes us happier.

    In this context, I wish everyone a new year filled with health, happiness, peace, and more qualified original production in their work…
