TECPLATA, the operator of the container terminal located in Puerto La Plata, has inked an agreement with Taiwan's Evergreen Marine Corp to launch a new service to Asia.
Under the agreement with the Taiwanese shipping line, TecPlata takes a further step towards becoming an alternative port in Buenos Aires for Argentine companies seeking competitive options for their exports and imports.
TecPlata, which began operations with the Brazilian shipping line LogIn last April, will be enhanced with this Evergreen service for Argentine foreign trade operators, who will now be able to directly ship cargo between and La Plata.
Evergreen will operate the new service in collaboration with LogIn, connecting with the largest ports in China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India and others in Southeast Asia.
