The Port Authority of Livorno has authorized the demolition of the 'Urania'. The wreck of the oceanographic reseach vessel has blocked the basin 'Mediterraneo' since it sank on Au 25, 2015. The floating dock was unusable due to the judicial seizure and, after the release, for the issues among all the interested parties, including insurance. With the decision of the Port Authority after the work of mediation and finishing with all the interested parties - the demolition could start in about two weeks directly in the basin. The cut down metal will be transferred by trucks for recycling. The work should last about a month.
