DATA from WorldACD shows that air cargo traffic globally grew by just 2

DATA from WorldACD shows that air cargo traffic globally grew by just 2.2 per cent in 2018 due to a weak end to the year, describing December's result as 'particularly worrisome', with volumes down 10 per cent and December volumes from the larger regions of Asia Pacific, Europe and North America down by larger percentages than those from the less dominant markets. The analysts also noted a year of two halves. The first eight months showed year-on-year volume growth of 3.7 per cent, however, from September to December 'things started to look much less positive' with three of the four months showing volume declines and an overall decrease of 0.6 per cent.

Bright spots were Latin America, regionally, up 8.4 per cent and pharmaceuticals, up 14.8 per cent, The Loadstar, UK reported.
