VOLGA-DNEPR Airlines partnered with Fracht FWO Inc to transport an 83-tonne boiler from Milian, Italy, to Lincoln, Nebraska in the US, reports London's Air Cargo News

VOLGA-DNEPR Airlines partnered with Fracht FWO Inc to transport an 83-tonne boiler from Milian, Italy, to Lincoln, Nebraska in the US, reports London's Air Cargo News. The plan took two months to come to fruition, involving the two companies to develop a special nine-tonne cradle for the boiler.

The entire journey took two days and consisted of five legs, with tech stops in Liege, Keflavik, Gander, and Bangor.

Said Volga-Dnepr Airlines commercial director Ekaterina Andreeva: 'This has been one of the most memorable projects for our team in years - challenging loading, complex routing, production of a dedicated cradle, provision of special equipment from the Volga-Dnepr's equipment store - these are all the pillars of the outsize and super-heavy charter operations that we are most experienced in.

'We would like to thank our customer, Fracht FWO Inc, for well-coordinated work and trust. In fact, this was a second charter flight operated within seven days with them and we are proud to support them with our unique freighter solutions.' said Ms Andreeva.

Said Fracht FWO Inv vice president Chris Schumacher: 'This is the fifth aircraft in 2021 that The Fracht Group have chartered with Volga-Dnepr Airlines this year and as usual, the shipment moved smoothly with a very happy customer. We consider Volga-Dnepr Airlines a strategic partner of Fracht and look forward to more charters in 2022 whilst strengthening our partnership.'
