The Coast Guard swiftly rescued the PRINCESS EVA from a mechanical failure near RESAT AGA, ensuring safety and preventing potential accidents.
The 98-meter-long vessel named PRINCESS EVA experienced a machinery failure at the Ahırkapı Anchorage in Istanbul, dangerously approaching the vessel RESAT AGA. This prompted the Coast Guard teams to take immediate action.
The General Directorate of Coastal Safety announced via the social media platform X that the incident was managed under the coordination of the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) Center. According to the statement, the tugboat KURTARMA-1 intervened and moved the PRINCESS EVA to a safer area, where the vessel was securely anchored again.
Authorities stated that the quick intervention prevented a potential maritime accident, and it was noted that there were no casualties or environmental pollution as a result of the incident.
