The U.S. military attacked the 'M/T Jalveer,' a vessel flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau, in the Gulf of Oman. This ship became the third commercial vessel that the U.S. has targeted with gunfire this week.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) continues its blockade against vessels in the Gulf of Oman. In a statement made by CENTCOM, it was expressed that U.S. forces neutralized the M/T Jalveer, which was attempting to transport oil from Iran while passing through the Gulf of Oman on June 10, on the grounds that it violated the blockade imposed on Iran. It was noted that the crew did not comply with the instructions of U.S. forces, and subsequently, a U.S. aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles at the ship's engine room. This was reported to be the third commercial vessel neutralized by U.S. forces this week. The statement recalled that on Monday, the U.S. had neutralized the Palau-flagged M/T Marivex and on Tuesday the Palau-flagged M/T Settebello with missiles, stating, 'Marivex violated the blockade by attempting to go to an Iranian port, and Settebello was also trying to transport Iranian oil.'

Since the blockade against vessels departing from Iran and attempting to go to Iran was initiated on April 13, U.S. forces have neutralized 9 vessels, altered the course of 135 vessels, and allowed the passage of 42 vessels carrying humanitarian aid.
