    The U.S. has seized the 'Sagitta,' its seventh Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean, to combat illegal oil trade and enforce sanctions.

    According to the latest development, the United States has seized another oil tanker named 'Sagitta,' linked to Venezuela, in the Caribbean. With this operation, the total number of seizures in the region has reached seven.

    U.S. officials stated that the recently seized tanker was stopped on suspicion of violating international sanctions and being used for the illegal transportation of Venezuelan oil. It was claimed that the vessel was intervened under maritime security and sanction enforcement operations conducted in the Caribbean.

    According to information reported by U.S. media, the seizure operations have been intensified particularly to monitor oil sanctions against Venezuela. Officials indicate that such operations aim to disrupt illegal oil trade in the region.

    It has been noted that the U.S. had previously seized six oil tankers in the Caribbean for similar reasons, and with the latest intervention, this number has increased to seven. Investigations and inspections are expected to continue in the upcoming period.
