CENTCOM reports the destruction of over 100 Iranian ships, highlighting efforts to secure trade routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that more than 100 naval vessels belonging to Iran have been destroyed in attacks against the country.
Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, made statements regarding the latest situation of the attacks on Iran in a video shared on the social media platform of the U.S.-based X company.
Cooper emphasized that U.S. forces are conducting 'intensive air operations' against Iran on the 16th day of the attacks.
He stated that ensuring the security of trade routes in the Strait of Hormuz region is among the primary objectives and reported that more than 100 naval vessels belonging to Iran have been destroyed in the conducted attacks.
Cooper highlighted that in the precise airstrike on Iran's Hark Island on March 13, over 90 Iranian military targets, including storage bunkers for naval mines and missiles as well as other military infrastructure, were destroyed.
Indicating that Iran's defense industry infrastructure has also been targeted, Cooper shared details of the attacks carried out in this context since the beginning of March.
Cooper noted that U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps pilots have conducted over 6,000 flights in total, stating that they 'continue to maintain air superiority in Iranian airspace and focus on military targets.'
The U.S. military shared images from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which 'was targeted by Iran.'
Meanwhile, CENTCOM shared images of the USS Abraham Lincoln on the social media platform of the U.S.-based X company.
The post indicated that the aircraft carrier continues its day and night flight operations as part of Operation Epic Fury, stating that the USS Abraham Lincoln, sailing near Iranian shores, is conducting successive attacks with its air fleet.
Iranian media claimed that the USS Abraham Lincoln had been 'neutralized' by the Iranian armed forces.
U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that Iran 'never attacked' the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and claimed that the shared images were not real.
