United Africa Feeder Lines adds Sohar, Oman to its Middle East Express service, enhancing connectivity for shippers in the region.
United Africa Feeder Lines has added Sohar, Oman, to its Middle East Express service, as reported by London's Container Management.
The revised rotation now covers Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Karachi, Sohar, Mutsamudu, Nacala, and back to Nhava Sheva. The service deploys two vessels of about 1,800 TEU each on a 21-day schedule, linking ports in the Indian Subcontinent with East Africa and Indian Ocean island destinations.
Sohar's inclusion extends the corridor into the Gulf of Oman, providing shippers on India-Pakistan trades with a direct connection to the Omani port without the need for transshipment. The service previously linked India and Pakistan with the Seychelles, Comoros, and Mozambique; however, the new rotation replaces the Seychelles call with Sohar as the sole Middle East port of call.
