    U-27 NE Brasil; Training ship of Brasilian Navy, arrived in Istanbul and moored at Sarayburnu pier yesterday, for a 4-days visit.

    U-27 NE Brasil; Training ship of Brasilian Navy, arrived in Istanbul and moored at Sarayburnu pier yesterday, for a 4-days visit.The 130-metres long Ship made her journey from Black sea port of Varna to Istanbul. The ship is to depart from Istanbul on Sunday. Commissioned in 1986, BRASIL was the last of a series of Niteroi frigates built and was modified to be used as a school ship. Each year the Brazilian Navy take a class of midshipmen on a six month tour allowing them to put their theoretical training into practice. Following their tour the midshipmen complete their training and get assigned to their respective ships or land base postings.
