Two injured in collision off Ostend
On March 26, 2017, at 4.35 a.m. the British tank m/v "Galway Fisher" was in collision with the "Pilot 1" 18 kilometers off the coast of Ostend. Two people were slightly injured - the Dutch pilots had to be evacuated by helicopter. They were taken to hospital with back problems. Both ships suffered damage at the hull. The pilot boat returned to Ostend at 7.15 a.m. The tanker, which had no cargo on board, was lying on the sandbank Westhinder. The tanker was heading from Cork to drydock in Sluiskil.
