The U.S. Coast Guard has announced that two vessels collided and became entangled in the Mississippi River. The incident occurred just upstream of New Orleans.

    Anchor Became Jammed in Bow

On the afternoon of March 23, the cargo ship Pac Dubhe was sailing downstream towards Panama, while the bulk carrier African Buzzard was proceeding upstream.

At approximately 15:50 local time, the two vessels collided off the coast of Hahnville, Louisiana. According to the Coast Guard, the anchor of the African Buzzard became lodged in the bow of the Pac Dubhe, causing the two ships to become entangled.
