General Coordinator of Iskenderun Ship Management Ahmet Hamza annaunced that they are carrying the donation of South Korea within the scope of UN World Food Programme (WFP)
The Food Assistance Convention (FAC) represents a continued commitment by its 16 Parties to contribute to global food security, and to improve the ability of the international comminity to respond to emergency food situations and other food needs of developing countries.
Through commitment to cooperation and collaboration, Parties to the FAC seek to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of food assistance in saving lives.
Reducing hunger and improving the nutritional status of the most vulnerable populations.
On 31st Jan 2108, the Republic of Korea acceded to the Food Asistance Convention, bringing the total number of members to sixteen. The Republic of Korea’s initial minimum annual commitment in 2018 will be 46 billion Korean Won.

In this context, the South Korea's first donation shipment will be done by Akdeniz M and Antakya M ships under the management of Iskenderun Ship Management.
Akdeniz M transports 22,000 MT of Rice from South Korea's Gunsan port to Djibouti, Antakya-M transports 18,000 MT of Rice from Mokpo port to Mombasa, Kenya.
In order to say goodbye to the vessels within the scope of the transportation of South Korea’s donation, a ceremony is hold at the port of Gunsan with the edition of Executive Directors and the Prime Minister of South Korea, together with the Akdeniz M captain Hamdi Tankal and ship's staff.
