Turkey's salmon exports have shown remarkable growth, surpassing $520 million in 2025. According to data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union (DKİB), the export value increased from $458.5 million in 2024 to $520.3 million in 2025. The export volume also rose from 74,832 tons to 79,112 tons, reflecting a 6% increase in quantity and a 13% increase in value compared to the previous year.
Exports to Russia Increased by 7%
In 2025, Turkish salmon was exported to 34 countries, with Russia being the primary market. The value of salmon exports to the Russian Federation reached $378.7 million, up from $355.6 million the previous year, indicating a 7% increase. Following Russia, Vietnam and Belarus imported $39.9 million and $33.3 million worth of salmon, respectively. From the Eastern Black Sea region, 27,860 tons of salmon valued at $182.6 million were exported to 19 countries, with Russia remaining the main destination.
Increasing Demand for Turkish Salmon Ensures Strong Performance
Ismail Kobya, Chairman of the DKİB Fisheries Sector Committee, emphasized the significant contribution of Turkish salmon to both the regional and national economy. He noted that 2025 concluded with an increase in exports, highlighting that production capacity was maintained while expanding into new markets. Kobya stated, 'The increasing demand for Turkish salmon allowed us to finish the year with strong performance. The export figures once again demonstrate our sector's potential for sustainable growth.' He expressed optimism for the future, adding, 'In 2026, we aim to enter new markets and increase our share in existing markets with high value-added products. We plan to further elevate our export figures through increased production capacity, improved logistics, and enhanced brand value of Turkish salmon.'
