    The 'Burhan Dizman 3', loaded with steel, went adrift about three kilometers off Propriano (Corse-du-Sud) on Jan 16, 2018. The ship suffered propulsion damage at 7.30 a.m. due to propulsion trouble and was emergency anchored at noon. She was assisted by the tug 'Abeille Flandre', which had been pre-positioned off Corsica and reached the freighter at 9.30 a.m. in very difficult weather condotions with winds reaching 100 km/h and 3.5 meters wave height. Given the weather situation, important means were simultaneously engaged, including two helicopters from the French Navy base Hyères, a Puma SAR helicopter from the Air Force in Solenzara and the civil security Dragon helicopter. An evaluation and intervention team from the French Navy in Toulon and a safety inspector from Ajaccioa and the port pilot of Bonifacio were hoisted aboard the cargo ship. It proceeded with own power to the port of Ajaccioand was expected there in the evening. The 'Burhan Dizman 3' had left Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) in the morning of Jan 15, heading for Gemlik.

    Escorted by an ocean-going tug, this Panamanian-flagged cargo ship made her own way to the port of Ajaccio, where she docked in the early evening, said the maritime prefecture.

    According to data from the specialized Vessel Finder site, the Burhan Dizman, built in 2013, is a 120 meter long boat. He left Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) Monday morning, heading for Gemlik in Turkey.
