    Turkish cruise vessel Didim Mavisi destroyed by fire, 100 passengers safe

    Cruise vessel Didim Mavisi went on flames on August 3 off the coast of Sarimsakli, Turkey, Aegean sea, with 100 passengers aboard. Fire started in the galley and quickly engulfed literally all the vessel. Master managed to take vessel into the nearest cove and as seen on photo, dropped an anchor.

Master managed to take vessel into the nearest cove and as seen on photo, dropped an anchor.  Luckily, nobody was injured, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated as other boats came to rescue.  Some passengers jumped into water and swam ashore.  Vessel is totally destroyed by fire.
