    The Turkish-German Shipbuilding and Maritime Conference on October 14 will feature 14 German companies discussing collaboration opportunities.

    The Turkish-German Shipbuilding and Maritime Conference will be held on October 14 in Pendik, Istanbul. The event will feature 14 German companies operating in the shipbuilding and maritime sectors, where sectoral developments and collaboration opportunities will be discussed.

    Representatives from the Turkish and German maritime sectors will come together at the Turkish-German Shipbuilding and Maritime Conference, which will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel Pendik. According to an announcement published by the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping, based on information provided by the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Turkey), participation in the event will be free of charge.

    The shipbuilding sectors of the two countries will be evaluated.

    According to the event program, the opening at 09:00 will feature Ayça Gözmen Yalçın, General Manager of DEinternational Servis Hizmetleri A.Ş., and Sebastian Geiger from the Consulate General of Germany in Istanbul.

    Following the opening, Christian Schilling from the German Shipbuilding and Ocean Technology Association (VSM) will present the current state of the sector in Germany. Mehtap Özdemir from the Turkish Shipbuilders' Association (GİSBİR) will deliver a presentation on the shipbuilding and maritime sector in Turkey.

    Competition with technology and partnership opportunities will be on the agenda.

    The 14 German companies participating in the conference will conduct brief introductory presentations in two separate sessions. The panel will evaluate the delivery and order status of the Turkish shipbuilding sector, technology-based competitive opportunities, and the Turkish-German partnership within the framework of Europe’s new maritime industry strategy.

    The event aims to establish new business connections among representatives of the two countries' sectors, assess potential partnerships, and enhance information sharing.

    Bilateral business meetings will be held in the afternoon.

    The circular specifies that the conference will take place from 09:00 to 13:00, while the additional program includes lunch and networking discussions from 12:30 to 14:00, and individual B2B meetings scheduled from 14:00 to 17:30.

    Meetings between German companies and potential Turkish business partners will be conducted according to individual appointment arrangements. Simultaneous translation from German to Turkish will be provided throughout the sectoral event.
