In the afternoon of Oct 7, 2017, the Malta flagged ferry "Eurocargo Trieste" (IMO: 9131515), allided with the "Aegean III" and the Greek ferry "Superfast 1" (IMO: 9350719), after she was caught by wind gusts while maneuvering to leave the berth in the New Port of Patras. The tanker was moored alongside the ferry for bunkering purposes and was sandwiched between the two larger ships. The Central Port Authority Patras detained all involved vessels for inspections.
