The 'Arctic Star' ran aground at Lepsøyrevet between Gamlem and Lepsøy in Haram at the Sunnmørs Coast in the night of July 23, 2018, at 3 a.m. None of the five on board was injured. They sent out a mayday call and went into life rafts. The lifeboat 'Idar Ulstein', an ambulance helicopter from Ålesund, an SAR helicopter from Florø and an ambulance boat responded. At 03.52 a.m. the rescue center was notified that all of the crew were safely taken aboard a vessel. At 8.30 a.m. on July 23 the trawler was refloated and towed to the Vegsundet Slip for repairs after it was investigated.
