TÜBİTAK Opens the Door to Employment at Sea: Recruitment of Seafarers Has Started via İŞKUR
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has announced that it will recruit seafarers to be assigned to the Marmara Research Center (MAM). According to the announcement published in the Official Gazette dated March 10, 2026, applications will be accepted through İŞKUR.
KOCAELİ - TÜBİTAK, one of Turkey's leading institutions in marine research, is looking for new colleagues to work on its research vessels. Personnel to be employed within the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) will play critical roles in the institution's marine operations.
Positions to be Filled
A total of 4 seafarer positions have been opened under the announcement, with the following distribution of quotas:
Watch Officer (Maritime Transportation and Management Technician)
Application Requirements and Process
Candidates must possess a valid Seafarer’s Wallet, relevant qualification documents (such as STCW), and a health report indicating that there are no conditions preventing them from working in maritime.
Applications can be made starting from March 10, 2026, through the İŞKUR e-Branch or via the Alo 170 hotline. At the end of the application period, a lottery will be held in the presence of a notary for candidates who meet the requirements, followed by interview processes.
