    Tanker fined for MARPOL violations

During a port state control of the "Amber 1" on Feb 7, 2017, the water police in Kiel found false waste and missing notices and suspected that food waste was disposed of at sea. The policemen declared that the crew stored the waste on board, outside of collecting points and unsorted. The tanker violated the international agreement MARPOL (Annex V) with the wrong notices and the suspicion of the wrongly disposed garbage. The Federal Maritime and Hydrography Agency issued a security guarantee: the first officer of the ship had to pay 100 Euros. The shio had docked in Kiel at 8.25 a.m. and continued the voayage to Nynäshamn at 12.45 p.m. The water police Kiel continued to investigate.
