    Tanker damaged oil pier

    The 'STI Poplar', loaaded with 27

    The 'STI Poplar', loaaded with 27.000 tons of fuel, allided with the pier of an oil terminal at Ploce, Dubrovnik on Aug 5, 2018, during the mooring manoever. The pier and oil transfer equipment were heavily damaged, with some crushed parts falling into the water. The tanker’s stern was also damaged, but no leak occurred. The ship was moored at Ploce anchorage for an assessment of damages. The damages to the terminal were estimated to be some millions of Euro, and with the terminal being inoperable for at least seven days, the oil supply of Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro may be affected.
