The 'Mekhanik Pogodin', carrying oil products, was arrested at Kherson port
The 'Mekhanik Pogodin', carrying oil products, was arrested at Kherson port. The court on the arrest of the vessel was held on Aug 13, 2018. The Captain of the port issued a new ban on departure of vessel from the water area, referring to Article 91 of the Merchant Shipping Code and a letter from the State Border Service of Ukraine. It should be recognized that in this case there are no violations that could be grounds for the lawful application by the port Captain of this article of Merchant Shipping Code. Vessel was identified and documented by the SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) officers. Vessel was included in the Sanction List of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC). Sailors on board were provided with food, water and medicines.
