The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bonny, Rivers State on March 8, 0218, arrested the 'San Padre Pio' for suspected illegal oil trade. The ship had on board 16 Ukrainian crew members and were accused to have violated the law of cabotage. They were caught while carrying drums suspected to be automated gas oil, without relevant documentation. The ship was arrested for being engaged in illegal trading activities that contravene our national law, especially the Cabotage law. The 16 suspects were thereafter handed over to the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigations and possible prosecution.
