On July 29, 2018, around 3 p.m. the 'Synthese 11', 1622 ts (EU-No.: 02326029), was hit by the closing swing bridge over the Van Starkenborgh Canal at Stroobos. After the incident the bridge was blocked for both road and ship traffic. The bridge remained in half opened position. Road traffic could detour via the bridges at Eibersburen and Blauforlaet. Some ships were waiting after the accident. The tanker suffered damage to the wheelhouse. By 8.45 p.m. mechanics have been able to close the bridge again.
