Survey ship may have detected sunken tanker

The Royal Malaysian Navy said on June 18 it has found the wreck of the "Putri Sea/Aquarius", which was believed to have sunk off Tanjung Pengelih in Johor following an explosion. The navy hydrography vessel "Perantau" has detected an underwater object, which was believed to be the missing tanker, using multi-beam sonar. The ship had lost contact with its agent in Singapore approximately 4.6 nautical miles south-west of Tanjung Pengelih on June 15 at 5 a.m. Six crew members were reported missing.
