Turkey denies recent claims of an attack on a commercial vessel, stating the images are outdated and misleading.

The Presidency's Communication Directorate Disinformation Combat Center has announced that recent images circulating on social media, which suggest a Turkish commercial vessel was attacked in the Black Sea, are unrelated to any current events.

In a statement released via DMM's account on NSosyal, officials noted that claims of a Turkish commercial vessel being hit are being misrepresented as a new incident.

The statement emphasized that these claims are disinformation, stating: "It has been determined that the images in question were recorded on December 13, 2025, and have no relation to today or any current event. We kindly request that images and content that could mislead the public, which have not been confirmed by official authorities and have an unclear source, not be shared."
