The first cuts of the hull of the "TK Bremen" on the beach of Erdeven on Jan 6, 6 p.m., had to be postponed to Jan 7, 10 a.m. due to adjustment problems and positioning of the gigantic crawler crane which was not yet operational on Jan 6.

The wreck will be cut down from top to bottom.

Only a few parts of the ship will avoid being cut into pieces, like the engine block, which will be removed in its entirety to prevent leakage of fluids, and the propeller whhich should be retained as a memory.

The disposal of asbestos parts took less than a day because the quantities of 1,5 tons were much smaller than thought. The Dutch company Euro-Demolition, responsible for the dismantling, will finish off the project within four weeks in day and night shifts. The following weeks will be devoted to rehabilitation of the dune site Kerminihy until April 6.
