Ship slammed into lock

On Oct 19, 2017, the "Maks" allided with the lower gate of the Svirstroy lock on the Svir river, being underway from Petrozavodsk to St. Petersburg after repairs without cargo. After a failure of the control system the vessel failed to reverse from forward to astern.The vessel suufered little damage, but the lock’s gate was torn. The "Maks" berthed near the accident site for investigations.
