Shanghai International Port Group's container April volume up 3.9pc CHINA'S largest port operator, Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), posted a 3.9 per cent year-on-year increase in April container volume to 2.83 million TEU with overall tonnage rising 6.2 per cent to 45.66 million tonnes, reports Xinhua.
During the first quarter of this year, the group lifted 7.8 million tonnes of boxes, up 3.5 per cent. Overall throughput climbed 7.8 per cent to 130 million tonnes, earning CNY1.02 billion (US$165.8 million), a 10.4 per cent year-on-year profit increase.
