CHINESE express carrier SF Airlines has launched weekly Boeing 767 freighter service from Shenzhen to Singapore's Changi Airport, raising maindeck capacity on the route by 16 per cent

CHINESE express carrier SF Airlines has launched weekly Boeing 767 freighter service from Shenzhen to Singapore's Changi Airport, raising maindeck capacity on the route by 16 per cent. Changi Airport said that China is its largest air cargo market, accounting for 270,000 tonnes of air freight in the 12 months ending June, representing a year-on-year increase of eight per cent, reports London's Air Cargo News.

'Growing demand by the Chinese market for perishables and pharmaceuticals from the southwest Pacific and Southeast Asian regions; both are among the top cargo segments,' said Changi Airport Group managing director Lim Ching Kiat.

'Singapore is a gateway for such flows between China and countries in the two regions. The added capacity by SF Airlines marks the start of expected growth of express flows on these routes,' he said.
