During their first check, the hull was found to be generally stable. On Aug 27 the towage operation for the containership was suspended due to poor sea status and the 12 crew members have been rescued by the Coast Guard Administration already on Aug 24. The ship ran aground south of Taiwan, near Kaohsiung port, Taiwan, in position 22 36.44 N, 120 16.00E, 300 metres from Cijin Beach due to bad weather on Aug 23 at 10.15 a.m. Subsequently, some diesel oil leaked from the vessel and port authority requested the owner to submit a towage plan until Aug 25.
