Two vessels were headed for the Sunderbans to pull out the 'SSL Kolkata' tinto the deep waters of the Bay of Bengal. The salvage vessel 'Lewek Harrier' from Singapore and the tug 'GS Amrita' from Kakinada port in Andhra Pradesh were expected on site on June 25. The team from salvage company SMIT, hired by the owners of SSL Kolkata, have measured the depth of the ship in the shallow waters near the Sunderban coast and assessed the damage. The salvage team was now finalising the plans. The latest aerial assessment by the Coast Guard's Dornier aircraft indicated the 'SSL Kolkata' has been maintaining its position where it ran aground. No smoke was visible from the vessel and no oil spill was observed around it. Report with photos: https://www.telegraphindi...
