RwandAir modernizes cargo operations by implementing Cargo Flash's nGen system, boosting efficiency and visibility in logistics.

RwandAir has modernized its cargo operations by deploying Cargo Flash's cloud-based nGen Integrated Cargo Management System, according to London's Air Cargo Week.

The Kigali-based airline partnered with Delhi NCR-headquartered Cargo Flash Infotech to implement the platform across its cargo division. This system enables end-to-end automation of booking, documentation, warehouse management, tracking, and delivery, aimed at enhancing visibility, reliability, and scalability.

As cargo digitization becomes essential for African carriers to remain competitive, IATA data indicates that Africa accounts for less than two percent of global air cargo volumes. However, demand is growing faster than the global average, driven by sectors such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce.

Cargo Flash's nGen ICMS offers real-time shipment visibility and centralized data access. RwandAir anticipates that the system will facilitate agile decision-making and improve coordination among stations, partners, and customers as it expands its regional and intercontinental cargo footprint.

Neha Kumari, Vice President at Cargo Flash, stated that the partnership reflects a mutual commitment to modernizing air cargo operations. Gakwaya Bosco, RwandAir's Director of Cargo Services, described the system as a strategic move to enhance efficiency and service standards.

Chief Executive Yvonne Makolo emphasized that digital integration will improve data-driven decision-making and enable the airline to scale its cargo services more effectively. This deployment highlights Kigali's ambition to become a regional air logistics hub and aligns with a broader trend of emerging-market carriers investing in digital cargo platforms.
