    TOTAL Russian port cargo throughput in April 2019 grew by 5

    TOTAL Russian port cargo throughput in April 2019 grew by 5.1 per cent year on year, according to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service. Export container traffic was up 3.6 per cent, with transit volumes rising 73.5 per cent, cabotage up 4.2 per cent and imports up 4.4 per cent, according SeaNews of St Petersburg.

    The Baltic basin ports account for the largest share in Russian sea ports' combined container throughput handling in April 240,000 TEU, up six per cent.

    The Russian Far Eastern ports saw their container traffic grow by 8.9 per cent up to 141,200 TEU.

    The Azov and Black Sea basin ports handled 73.600 TEU, down 7.6 per cent year on year. Container traffic via the Arctic basin ports amounted to 17,100 tonnes, up 22.6 per cent.

    The Caspian basin ports increased their container throughput 2.7-fold up to 297 TEU.
