The 'Nikitis' on its scheduled service from Prinos to Thassossuffered rudder problems and was unable to approach the port of Thasos in the afternoon of July 31, 2018. As a result of the rudder control issues, the vessel had to remain at the anchorage north of Thasos. The passengers on board were transferred onto other vessels for the transport from Thassos to the port of Keramoti. The 'Nikitis' was detained at Thasos until the rudder was repaired and a class maintenance certificate was issued.
